First Commercial Realty is currently redeveloping a ~1.75 acre parcel at the northeast corner of Grand River and Whitcomb in Detroit, Michigan. This parcel has been owned by First Commercial since 1999, and currently home to Foot Locker (15280 West Grand River Avenue). It is located in the Greenfield and Grand River retail corridor, which boasts a strong presence of national and regional chains, including Foreman Mills, Rainbow, Villa, J-Bees, VIP Wear, Shoe Time and more.

When completed, the three-phase redevelopment will feature over 13,000 square feet of retail space in three freestanding buildings, with frontage along Grand River Avenue. It will be anchored by a 6,500 square foot freestanding Foot Locker concept store, the first phase of the development. This state-of-the-art store, which is set to open by Summer 2019, is reflective of Foot Locker North America’s new strategy to move away from traditional mall-based retail spaces and into unique, community-centered retail spaces.
