The Tree House is a non-profit second-hand bookshop and event space, owned and run by Victoria Mier, aided and abetted by some fabulous volunteers. The aim of the Tree House is to keep physical books on the high street, including books that are not easily available because they are out of print or out of the bestseller charts, and to promote the importance of literature in our increasingly anti-intellectual society. We have comfy sofas and armchairs, you can help yourself to coffee or tea for a small charge, and you are welcome to come and browse through the books in comfort. We have all sorts of books, including a well-stocked children’s area. We have a variety of evening events – live music, films, author events, poetry readings, storytellers, whatever we find that would be entertaining and appropriate for the space we have.
