ABOUT BETHESDA/CHEVY CHASE

Bethesda/Chevy Chase continues to evolve as a dynamic urban lite location, a mix of high-end office, retail, and residential real estate, and one of Washington, D.C.’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Wisconsin and Connecticut Avenues run parallel through much of the area, feeding commuter traffic from the Capital Beltway and minor arteries like Old Georgetown Avenue and East-West Highway. With more than 200 restaurants, two theaters, and 20 art galleries, this area has attracted some of the area’s most prominent employers.

The Bethesda/Chevy Chase market is a recognized economic engine for suburban Maryland and competes for major tenants with the District and Northern Virginia. Phillip McCarthy, Executive Managing Director
Executive Managing Director Phil McCarthy, with his partner Keith Foery, co-manages Transwestern’s Mid-Atlantic leadership team that is responsible for the overall strategy, recruitment, business development, and financial performance for the region. Phil and Keith also serve both local and national clients on behalf of Transwestern. Phil is a member of Transwestern’s Executive Committee and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors.

Phil began his career in commercial real estate in 1985. He has represented his clients in more than $5 billion in sales and leasing transactions.

Phil’s clients have included: Fiserv, Inc., Coventry Healthcare, M&T Bank, TIAA-CREF, Boston Properties, The JBG Companies, Carr Properties, AEW, JP Morgan, Quadrangle Development, LCOR, Federal Realty Investment Trust, and American Realty Partners.
Mark Boyce, Senior Vice President
Mark represents owners and tenants in leasing and acquisitions of office properties throughout the Washington, D.C., metro area. He negotiates on behalf of his clients and leads them through complex real estate transactions by providing strategic planning, market analysis and financial modeling.
Mark has nearly a decade of experience in commercial real estate. He previously served as a financial and market analyst for Transwestern’s Mid-Atlantic Capital Markets Group, where he was responsible for the due diligence, financial analysis and closing of acquisitions and dispositions of office, retail and industrial properties in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Prior to joining Transwestern in 2010, Mark worked at Cushman & Wakefield in Boston with a Medical and Academic Practice Group, where he was responsible for research, analysis and marketing of medical office buildings.
Keith Foery, Executive Managing Director
Keith, with his partner Phil McCarthy, manages the Mid-Atlantic leadership team that is responsible for the overall strategy, recruitment, business development and financial performance for the region. Keith and Phil also serve both local and national clients on behalf of Transwestern. Keith is a member of Transwestern's executive committee and serves on the firm's board of directors.

Keith has 29 years of commercial real estate experience. He has represented his clients in more than $5 billion in sales and leasing transactions.

Karla Rivera, Assistant Vice President
Karla is a real estate professional with expertise in both agency leasing and tenant advisory services in the Washington, D.C. metro region. With extensive experience in the commercial real estate market, Karla specializes in lease negotiations and advising her clients on real estate strategy to meet their business goals. Her responsibilities include business development, lease negotiation, transaction management, and strategic marketing on behalf of clients. She has a deep understanding of the local market and is known for her ability to deliver results for her clients.
Before joining Transwestern in 2019, Karla previously worked at CoStar Group where she was a Marketing Research Advisor. In this role, she was responsible for conducting analyses on recent sale and lease transactions, building and maintaining positive relationships with real estate professionals and collaborating with the marketing team to curate ads, reports, and publications.
Karla attended The Catholic University of America where she earned her bachelor’s in International Business.
