ABOUT UPPER TOLLWAY & WEST PLANO

Upper Tollway/West Plano has emerged as a target for companies choosing to relocate to or expand their presence in North Texas. Plenty of land and easy highway access have transformed the open landscape into a bustling suburban-office center to the north. J.P. Morgan, Toyota, and Liberty Mutual are some of the largest new entrants, while Frito Lay and Ericsson are existing well-known companies. High-profile corporate moves to Upper Tollway/West Plano have brought more high-income households and, in turn, a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Open-air, mixed-use centers have sprouted in the area as well. Newer developments feature ground-floor retail and office space. The Upper Tollway/West Plano area is bisected by the Dallas North Tollway and includes a section of 121 to the north and George Bush Tollway to the south, all heavily traveled arteries connecting thousands of residents between Plano, Frisco, Addison, and Carrollton.

Construction here has been booming. Developers are adding amenity-rich office space, in part, to attract highly skilled talent. Dennis Barnes, Executive Vice President
Dennis Barnes, Executive Vice President – Advisory and Transaction Services joined CBRE in June 2004 and is responsible for the company’s full-service agency leasing initiatives and business development for the Dallas/Fort Worth office market. Dennis has 30 years of extensive experience in all aspects of marketing, lease negotiations and budgeting for all classes of suburban and CBD commercial office buildings.

As an agency leasing specialist, Dennis has annually led the local brokerage community in the number of lease transactions completed. During 2020/2021, he led teams that consummated 111 lease transactions totaling 1.06 million square feet that ranged from 1,834 to 403,200 square feet (in both suburban and urban office properties). These lease transactions represented a combined consideration of $551 million and a 110k sf office building sale at $21 million.
Jackie Fraker Marshall, Senior Vice President
Jackie Fraker Marshall is a Senior Vice President in CBRE’s Dallas office, where she specializes in the marketing and leasing of office real estate for institutional landlords. Ms. Marshall has extensive experience developing real estate strategies, implementing marketing campaigns and structuring lease transactions. She has completed over 2.75 million square feet of leasing during her tenure at CBRE.
