Putting Technology and Research to Work Construction on Building One @ Tech Center broke ground on August 24, 2017. Tech Center Research Park will be located on 50 acres adjacent to the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, one of 17 national science laboratories funded by the Department of Energy. The new site will provide nearly 1 million square feet of prime office space, where large and small high-tech companies can carry out advanced research. Tech Center Research Park is located in Newport News in the Hampton Roads area of southeastern Virginia and will include a vibrant, urban marketplace, walkable streets, onsite luxury housing, and new public spaces. The 100-acre mixed-use development is anchored by the world-renowned Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab).
