Bio
Alan brings over two decades of experience in the retail industry, including 13 years at Robeson’s Department Store and more than 30 years as President of Robeson’s Inc. His leadership and entrepreneurial spirit have significantly impacted the Champaign County area. He played a key role in the development of former Rantoul Air Force Base properties, helping to establish successful ventures such as Golfview Village, Little Wings Childcare and Learning Center, and Robeson, Roessler and Associates, LLC. In 1994, Alan earned his Realtor’s license and has since specialized exclusively in commercial real estate. He represents exclusive leasing opportunities for Dr. William Youngerman’s downtown commercial properties and has become a trusted name in local commercial real estate. Alan is deeply committed to community service. He has served on numerous boards, including the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois, Champaign Library Foundation, Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board of Trustees, Willard Airport Executive Advisory Committee and Board, Champaign County Historical Museum, and the Illinois Retail Merchants Association. From 2007 to 2012, he served as an elected member of the Champaign County Board. Alan has been married to Kassandra Kathleen Nudo for 51 years. Together, they have three children—Salvatore, Nicholas, and Margaret—and seven grandchildren: Claire, Olivia, Matthew, Logan, Cecelia, Abigail, and Julia. Born and raised in Blue Island and Harvey, Illinois, Alan is a graduate of Thornton Township High School and holds a B.A. in History from the University of Illinois. His lifelong passion for basketball led him to a 20-year coaching career, including roles at St. Matthews Grade School, Champaign Centennial High School, and as head coach of the Parkland College Men’s Basketball team. Alan’s interests center around sports, with a special love for University of Illinois basketball, football, and volleyball, as well as the Boston Celtics.
