Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Andy founded a healthcare consulting firm that specialized in certificate of need regulations and market analysis for new and existing health care facilities in the Midwest. Andy has also served as in-house counsel at Mainstreet Property Group where he oversaw the certificate of need approval for 10 new skilled nursing facilities in 5 states.
As an attorney, Andy has experience with healthcare real estate and non-profit tax law. Regarding healthcare real estate, Andy has expertise in negotiating lease agreements, management agreements, real estate transactions, and other financial transactions. Regarding non-profit tax law, Andy has expertise in non-profit formation, unrelated business taxable income, sales tax exemptions and property tax exemptions.
Andy earned a bachelor's degree in political science from South Dakota State University and a juris doctorate from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and two young daughters.
