Bio
Arpit Shah is a Senior Vice President for CBRE Hotels. Originally based in the firm’s Atlanta Office, Mr. Shah relocated to the Charlotte Office in September of 2012. With over 15 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, he is responsible for providing brokerage and advisory services to hoteliers primarily in the southeastern United States. He specializes in single assets and portfolios of premium extended-stay, upscale limited- and select-service hotels.
Having joined CBRE Hotels in December of 2004, Mr. Shah has been involved in over 120 closings comprising a transaction volume of over $1.2 billion. Born and raised in the Carolinas, Mr. Shah's expertise allows him to be most effective geographically south of Virginia and east of Texas. He specializes on hotel assets valued between $10 million and $25 million with a guestroom inventory between 90 and 200 units.
In June of 2017, Mr. Shah led the disposition of a five-hotel portfolio for $163 million on behalf of Xenia Hotels & Resorts. In November of 2014, Mr. Shah sold a portfolio of three Hyatt Places for $30 million. In September of 2012, Mr. Shah oversaw the disposition of a portfolio containing 12 select- and limited-service hotels for $115 million. Mr. Shah has also led consulting assignments in the Charlotte market for Levine Properties, Foundation for the Carolinas and Childress Klein.
Prior to joining CBRE Hotels, Mr. Shah was the Asset Manager for Winston Hotels Inc., a publicly traded REIT with over 50 hotels that was sold in 2007 for a total consideration of approximately $850 million. In addition to leading the firm’s asset management division, Mr. Shah played an integral role in the firm’s acquisition and development projects, mezzanine financing program and the execution of a $100 million acquisition fund joint-ventured with a Boston-based private equity firm. Before joining Winston Hotels, he was a Senior Consultant for PKF Consulting in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Shah received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Operations from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. During his college career, Mr. Shah held internships at Choice Hotels International, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and American Express. Mr. Shah holds his real estate license in North Carolina and Georgia and is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.??
