Appointed to the newly created role after eight years as Finance Director, Averil now leads the Executive Team, overseeing all business operations, resources, and strategic ventures for the Edinburgh-headquartered group.
A chartered accountant by profession, Averil began her career with KPMG in Auckland and London, specialising in hotels, leisure, and media entertainment. She later held senior finance roles with Lionsgate Films and Lloyds Banking Group before joining Apex Hotels in 2011.
During her tenure as Finance Director, Averil expanded her remit to include IT, Risk, and transformational projects focused on systems development and process re-engineering.
