Dr. Bill Harrison is a Realtor® with Parlér Properties with an office in Historic Downtown Wake Forest and serves on the Wake Forest Downtown Board of Directors. He serves on the Economic Development, Membership and Ambassador committees of the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also active in the Wake Forest Kiwanis Club. Before relocating to North Carolina, Dr Harrison was active in community life. A member of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce he served on the Small Business Committee and was a member of the North Fulton Leadership. Following graduation, he served as Vice Chair of the Leadership Steering Committee. A lifetime competitive soccer player, Bill founded an adult soccer league in Roswell, Georgia. Starting with four teams, the league grew to twelve teams by the time he left Georgia. Dr. Harrison earned a PhD in Chemistry at Case Western Reserve University. After earning his degree, he was a researcher at Cornell University and Harvard Medical School and is the author of scientific papers in both the Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry fields. Dr. Harrison has had an 30-year career as a manager and executive with high technology and data processing companies including Microsoft, Digital Equipment Corporation (now Hewlett-Packard), Wang Laboratories, and BUYPASS Corporation. During his corporate career, Bill excelled in the Customer Relationship Management arena. He was a charter member of Digital Equipment Corporation’s (DEC) first Technical Call Center established in 1979. He was instrumental in the creation of DEC’s Call Center processes and knowledge-base software. Through his innovative techniques in team-building, organizational development, and communication, Bill built a high-performance team that handled around 500,000 calls per year. As a result, Bill achieved multiple awards for Call Center excellence including an Excellence Award for Most Improved District in 1990.
