Blake L. Stevens, PhD, is Executive Vice President – Regional Market Director – Research Triangle at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. and has served in this role since January 2026. Dr. Stevens previously served as Senior Vice President – Regional Market Director – Research Triangle from May 2025 to December 2025 and has held several senior leadership roles since joining the company in April 2017, including General Manager - LaunchLabs and Vice President – Science & Technology as part of Alexandria Venture Investments, the company’s strategic venture capital platform. As Regional Market Director, Dr. Stevens leads Alexandria’s Research Triangle real estate portfolio, focusing on strategic growth, driving regional strategy, executing key acquisition and disposition initiatives, steering the regional Alexandria team, and engaging deeply with the local life science ecosystem. He also oversees the Research Triangle portfolio for Alexandria Venture Investments and leads the company’s national agtech investment strategy. Dr. Stevens serves as a board director for several venture-backed companies and entrepreneurial organizations. Prior to joining Alexandria, Dr. Stevens was an investor at Harris & Harris Group, an early-stage venture capital firm specializing in life sciences and agtech, where he led direct investments into early-stage companies, managed a diverse venture portfolio, and co-founded multiple startups. Earlier in his career, he was the seventh employee at HZO, Inc., where he led R&D, commercialization, intellectual property, and technical business development. Dr. Stevens holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University, a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, and a Certificate in Management for Scientists and Engineers from the Kellogg School of Management.
