Mr. Knott is the President of Pinpoint Properties, a full service commercial real estate firm located in Durham, North Carolina. Mr Knott founded the firm in 2000 and later merged his firm with The Dilweg Companies from May 2011 until September of 2013. Mr. Knott returned to Pinpoint Properties in order to focus on development opportunities in the greater Triangle area.
While at The Dilweg Companies, Mr. Knott served as the Chief Operating Officer / Senior Asset Manager and was responsible for the acquisition of 230,000 square feet of office and retail projects in the Triangle and almost 1 million square feet of Class A office in Atlanta and Charlotte.
Mr. Knott has directly overseen the development and construction of a variety of commercial real estate projects in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina. Mr. Knott has extensive experience in the ground-up development process and is effective at converting raw land into entitled property through his knowledge of the rezoning and site plan approval processes Prior to entering the commercial real estate field, Mr Knott was employed by IBM at its Research Triangle Park location where he held a variety of engineering and management positions in the PC Manufacturing division, including the Site Manufacturing Manager and the North American Materials Managers positions. As Site Manufacturing Manager he directly supervised 46 managers and 1400 employees and was responsible for over 30% of IBM’s global PC Production. As NA Materials Manager, he supported the procurement, production control, scheduling and inventory management of $2 Billion annually. He provided dotted line management to Guadalajara, Mexico and Toronto, Canada production facilities.
