Bio
Bruce has over 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry as a tenant representation broker and corporate services advisor, a business owner, and an investor in commercial real estate.
Bruce joined Avison Young in February 2012. He was recognized as the No. 1 Sales Professional Nationwide in both 2012 and 2016. He completed the largest lease transaction in history for Avison Young in 2015 and again in 2016. Acting on behalf of clients in the Washington DC region and throughout the United States, he has excelled in advising public and private companies in office lease transactions valued in excess of $4.5 billion.
Prior to joining Avison Young, he was an Executive Vice President with Grubb & Ellis, where he was the No. 1 Sales Professional Nationwide in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He co-founded Morris-McNair & Associates, Inc., a highly respected Washington, DC-based brokerage company, which was later acquired by St. Joe Company and became the Washington regional office of Advantis GVA. Bruce was recognized as Advantis GVA’s No. 1 Sales Professional Nationwide in 2004.
Bruce holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors. He is a member of the Board of Visitors at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and also serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Real Estate Services at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. He also serves on the National Council of The Urban Institute. He was formerly a member of the Landon School Board of Trustees and the Wolf Trap Foundation Board of Directors.
