Desiree Merriweather’s over 23 years of real estate experience has not only given her the ability to provide for her own family, but the honor of taking care of generations of families. One of the highlights of Desiree’s career is when she is called on to assist the children and even grandchildren of her past clients. Her ability to build long-lasting, trusting, professional relationships with her clients has contributed to 95% of her clients being return clients or referrals. Desiree is currently a licensed Broker with LPT Realty, LLC. Her prior experience includes being Education Coordinator & Support Broker for JPAR Magnolia Group and licensed Realtor positions with Coldwell Banker Realty and Russell & Jeffcoat Real Estate, Inc.
Desiree believes that Columbia and the Midlands area are great places to live and work which is why she chooses to call it home. She knows what makes the area special and wants her clients to have that same feeling when working with her. She understands that purchasing or selling a home is a major decision and she uses her expertise to guide clients in a way that allows them to be comfortable and confident in accomplishing their real estate goals.
As a minority woman and leader in real estate, Desiree is passionate about engaging and sharing within her community, particularly in spaces that support homeownership for diverse individuals and families. She holds specialty designations in working with seniors (Senior Real Estate Specialist - SRES) and diverse populations (At Home With Diversity – AHWD). She was awarded the 2022 Realtor of the Year from the Central Carolina Realtors Association. This award is notably one of the most prestigious awards for realtors in South Carolina and serves as a testament to her accomplishments and the esteemed reputation she holds within the real estate community.
Desiree is a life-long learner and has continued her professional development by completing the South Carolina Association of Realtors (SCR) Leadership Program and obtaining several certifications from the National Association of REALTORS®, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), and the REALTORS® Commitment to Excellence Endorsement (C2EX). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina and continues to add specialized certifications to her realtor qualifications portfolio. In her free time, you can find Desiree being mom to her grown-ish sons, Justin and Jackson, a super Aunty to her niece & nephew and spending time with the rest of her family and friends.
