Scope of Service Experience: Cathy has over 22 years experience in office sales and leasing, R&D, Build-to-Suit, Sale-Leaseback and Corporate Representation. She also assists with sales and management development and training at NAI Capital Commercial. Education Cathy''s undergraduate degrees are in liberal arts, humanities and education. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics and English Literature from Auburn University, Alabama. She is a graduate of Xerox sales training school where she studied business development , financing and sales. She has continued her education throughout her career with various courses in real estate, appraisal, ethics, corporate representation (CREST) and real estate law to name just a few. Background & Experience Cathy''s early business experience includes Major Accounts Marketing with Xerox Corporation handling "Fortune 500" accounts. There she was a specialist assigned to market Xerox''s most sophisticated printing system. At Xerox, Cathy ranked consistently among the top ten sales persons in the United States and annually qualified for "President''s Club," which is the elite among the salesforce.
After leaving Xerox Corporation, Cathy became a commercial real estate broker. She not only quickly developed impressive real estate credentials, but assisted in writing and conducting training classes for new salespeople hired by the company. Cathy very quickly went on to open her own commercial brokerage firm which she owned and managed for 11 years. She joined NAI Capital Commercial in 1993 as Senior Vice President responsible for office sales and leasing. Cathy has consistently qualified for the elite "Capital Club" which includes only the top performing brokers in the company. Professional Affiliations & Designations Cathy is currently active in community and educational organizations including membership on the School Board of a local elementary school and Publicity and Publications Chairperson of SpringFest, the annual fund raiser for educational enrichment.
She is a graduate of CREST and Advanced Training Seminars. Significant Transactions Over the years of her career, Cathy has handled many different types of transactions from simple leases to very complicated sale-leaseback situations and involved exchanges. The hallmark of her philosophy is service. This is supported by the large number of repeat transactions Cathy does for various clients over many years. She has represented some of the same owners as their leasing agent for over 15 years; she has representated clients in finding them new space and subsequently selling their old facilities; she has handled multiple-location transactions for numerous corporate clients. Client names include Fortune 500 companies, large national companies, regional firms and large and small local firms.
Significant transactions include the negotiation with a Community Redevelopment Agency for the acquiring and construction of a regional headquarters facility for Hewlett Packard; dealings with Metropolitan Transit Authority for acquisition of transit station sites; acquisition of several regional sales offices for Hewlitt Packard; disposition of several excess properties by Hewlitt Packard; Account Manager for Litton Industries in the acquisition and disposal of multiple facilities including local, regional, national and international campuses; acquisition of sites for various county agencies; On-going leasing representation for various landlords handling the leasing of their office assets.
