Cedric Michel is an urban architect and co-director of Atelier 9.81. He obtained a DUT in Civil Engineering, Building and Public Works in 1994, followed by a degree from the National School of Architecture and Landscape of Lille in 2000. From 2005 to 2014, he taught Theory and Practice of Architectural and Urban Design at the same institution. In 2014, he joined the teaching team at the School of Architecture of the City & Territories of Marne-la-Vallée. He has also contributed to the School of Advanced Engineering Studies in Lille, focusing on Building Architecture Planning. Cedric Michel has worked as an operational architect for several agencies, including NOX Architekten (Rotterdam), François Andrieux, Josep Lluis Mateo, MAP Architects (Barcelona), and Béal & Blanckaert. In 2004, he co-founded Atelier 9.81 with Geoffrey Galand. His work explores the post-industrial condition of urban environments, with research centered on materiality and use as frameworks for architectural sensitivity.
