Bio
Dakota James brings more than a decade of real estate experience in Central Indiana and a strong reputation for client service, leadership, and mentorship. As a Real Estate Broker, Managing Broker, Co-Team Leader, Investor, and Small Business Owner with over 250 total closed real estate transactions, Dakota has established himself as a seasoned professional in the real estate industry. Dakota joins Bradley Company as a Broker from the F.C. Tucker Company, where he led The Dakota James Team and co-founded the Roy Wilson | Dakota James Group, earning consistent recognition for multi-million-dollar production. Dakota works in our Indianapolis principal office, partnering closely with Executive Managing Director & Principal, Samuel Smith, CCIM, SIOR and his high-performing commercial real estate team.
Beyond his success in brokerage, Dakota has been deeply involved in the real estate industry. He has served as Chairman of MIBOR’s Hancock County Division, helped launch MIBOR NextGen, was a recipient of MIBOR’s Denver Hutt Rising Star Award, and taught Indiana’s Broker Pre-Licensing Course to mentor new real estate professionals. He also brings an entrepreneurial mindset as co-owner of Hoosier Grizzly Beverage and business advisor, giving him a first-hand understanding of what drives success for owners and clients alike.
In addition to his successful real estate career, Dakota has a diverse background which has helped shape his professional approach. He has previous experience as a graduate school researcher and data analyst at Indiana University – Indianapolis, where he specialized in a program offered by the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA). This academic background has allowed him to develop a unique perspective on the real estate market and its connection to public policy and environmental considerations. Prior to his career in real estate, Dakota was a licensed private investigator and served as a Case Manager and Assistant Program Coordinator in the Drug Treatment and Re-Entry Court of the Marion County Superior Court in Indianapolis, IN. These experiences provided him with invaluable skills in communication, problem-solving, and client advocacy, which he now applies in his real estate transactions.
