Mr. David Butler was with Colliers International from 1996 to 2011 and completed financing and sales transactions worth over $500 million. His successful career in real estate has encompassed the disciplines of real estate investment, finance, management, and development.
David has owned and/or managed every type of income-producing real estate except for mini-storage. Thus, he has first-hand experience with the advantages and disadvantages of the various income property investment alternatives. In addition, David helped form an income property syndication firm and was responsible for acquisitions and joint ventures with local developers. Prior to this, he ran a private real estate investment company that owned a diversified portfolio of residential and commercial real estate.
A major focus for David is assisting real estate investors with developing a successful real estate portfolio strategy, and careful analysis and selection of properties that together present an exceptional portfolio package with high returns. As head of a real estate syndication group as well as a private investor, David has a wealth of experience in the analysis of risk vs. return, diversification, debt leveraging, and tax strategy.
All of this experience gives him a unique perspective that is useful in helping sellers structure a sale to match the investor marketplace and to advise buyers on the properties that best fit their needs.
EDUCATION
David received his MBA degree from Ohio State University (1973), and earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (1969).
