Bio
David Greene is a third-generation home builder and the team lead of Opus at Compass. With a background in luxury residential construction, he offers clients a real estate experience grounded in deep industry knowledge, strategic guidance, and lasting relationships. His trained eye for quality, value, and potential allows him to confidently advise clients whether they’re buying, selling, or investing. Raised in Lake Forest in a real estate family, David began his career designing and building high-end homes. That hands-on foundation still shapes his approach today. Based in Chicago, he works with clients across the city and the North Shore, specializing in single-family homes, condominiums, and vintage properties. David’s work continues well past closing. He maintains a vetted network of contractors, designers, painters, and other trusted pros to support clients long after the sale. Through his connections with top Compass agents nationwide, he also provides access to exclusive off-market listings and referral opportunities across the country. At Compass, the #1 brokerage in the U.S., David leverages tools like Compass Concierge, Private Exclusives, Coming Soon marketing, and AI-driven seller insights to give clients an edge. He’s known for his calm, clear approach, strong negotiation skills, and ability to guide clients through every step with care. Outside of real estate, David is a lifelong musician and DePaul University graduate in Music and Communication. He lives in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood with his husband, John, and their rescue dog, Roxy, and is passionate about architecture, opera, classical music, skiing, yoga, wellness, and spending time in the mountains. He is an active member of the Chicago Symphony Overture Council, Lyric Opera of Chicago Young Professionals, and the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, and serves in leadership with Out at Compass, Chicagoland and on the Compass REtreat Advisor Council.
