•Hello and thanks for stopping by! Here's a little about me. My wife Debbie & I moved to the OBX in 1978. The 158 Bypass Road was only 2 lanes wide and Dare County had two stoplights, one at Whalebone Junction and one on Roanoke Island. We built a house on Roanoke Island, raised two children and still love living here! Our children live close by and now we have the great gift of Grandkids! We love boating and fishing and just being on the water. I was part of a home building business here and built houses for two years before entering the real estate business in 1980. That was 5 years before we even had an MLS system. Since then, I have continually obtained education through real estate designations and franchise sales training. I have also been active in our local and state REALTORS Associations throughout my career. I started Resort Realty in 1987 with a partner and helped grow that business to 3 offices, managing 30 sales associates and 450 weekly vacation rental properties before leaving there in 2007. Throughout my time in real estate I have continually represented Buyers and Sellers here on the Outer Banks. I have been involved with ownership of Franchised and Independent real estate Companies here and in January of 2016, I affiliated with Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty in our Kill Devil Hills office. So, I've seen a lot of changes on the Outer Banks but the one thing that remains constant is the love vacationers and property owners alike have for the OBX.
Update! After vacationing at Kerr Lake since 1973, camping at North Bend Campground near the Dam, we bought a house in Manson, NC in 2001. And, I affiliated with another Coldwell Banker franchise at the Lake in 2016. Coldwell Banker Advantage has offices from the coast of NC to the foothills. In 2020 we moved into our vacation home full time. I earned my Virginia real estate license because I cover Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake and they spilt the line of those two states. I am still active on the Outer Banks mostly with repeat clients and that's great because it allows me to visit 2 of our 4 grandkids in Manteo. Okay, our son and daughter n law as well!
So if you are interested in buying or selling real estate on the OBX or in the Kerr Lake and Lake Gaston area, let me know if I can help you!
