Derrick Plunkett is a commercial real estate broker with over 25 years of experience
in real estate and real estate investment. He is the founding business partner of KW
Commercial NKY, where he specializes in representing clients in the sale and leasing
of commercial properties throughout the region.
As a commercial area specialist, Derrick represents retail, industrial, office, and
specialty properties, delivering strategic, results-driven guidance tailored to each
client’s objectives. He brings a strong understanding of local zoning and code
regulations, along with extensive knowledge of the construction process and internal
building components—providing clients with a clear advantage in evaluating and
executing transactions.
Derrick is an expert negotiator representing sellers, buyers, landlords, and tenants,
known for protecting his clients’ interests and driving successful outcomes. His depth of
experience, market insight, and hands-on approach allow him to navigate complex
transactions and help clients achieve long-term success.

Outside of his commercial real estate career, Derrick has been married to his wife,
Susie, for over 30 years, and they have one son, Hoyt. Derrick and Susie are
competitive archers and are passionate about coaching archery, with a special focus on
introducing women and children to the sport and helping them become actively
involved.
