Stepping into the hospitality industry straight out of high school in 2011, Devan was thrust into the world of small-scale motel operations in Detroit, Michigan. As the child of Indian immigrants who were new to the industry and faced language barriers, Devan quickly took on significant responsibilities. Today, he is the proud owner and operator of 13 independent, non-branded motels in Michigan. His journey has also led him to acquire and develop over 10 hotels with Wealth Hospitality, alongside his partner Chico. They currently have over 20 projects in the pipeline in the Southeast and Northwest regions of the USA.
Devan’s partnership with Chico at Wealth Hospitality has been a game-changer, akin to finding a long-lost sibling. Their shared goals have allowed them to execute their plans with greater force. Their ambition is to continue acquiring and developing more hotels, now on a larger scale and in larger markets where the barrier to entry is high. Devan and Chico’s primary focus is on ground-up development and acquiring hotels below replacement cost.
