As Vice President of Property Management, Doug Johnson is responsible for a portfolio of industrial, office, and retail properties, as well as other specialized real estate asset types for the 27,000-acre master-planned community, AllianceTexas located in north Fort Worth. In total, the development encompasses over 53 million square feet and 559 corporate residents, employing 63,000 employees. Leading the property operations, including capital budgeting and overall property management process, Johnson balances and fosters relationships with owners, customers, and business partners.
In addition to managing a dedicated team of property managers, facility engineers, and administrative assistants, Johnson oversaw the growth of Hillwood’s commercial property management business from 19 million SF to 26 million SF. Johnson also managed the growth of the multifamily property management business from 880 units to approximately 2,400 units total, including its expansion into the Frisco, Texas market.
Prior to joining Hillwood, Johnson was the Senior Vice President for C-III Asset Management where he led the hospitality REO asset management program. As Vice President of Northstar Realty Finance, Johnson pioneered the proliferation of commercial real estate CDO debt from 2004 to 2007, helping Northstar become the largest self-issuer of CDO bonds. Johnson’s extensive background covers all facets of real estate, including commercial, multifamily, and hospitality, as well as a rounded skill set in finance, capital structuring, asset management, and operations.
