Douglas brings over 30 years commercial real estate experience and has a strong track record in retail, including extensive experience in shopping centres, food stores, out of town and high street retail and has worked for many top quality clients such as Safeway, Somerfield, Land Securities, Miller Developments, Highland Properties and Town Centre Securities.
Douglas spent 20 years with Webster & Co (becoming Gooch Webster & now part of Colliers CRE). Whilst there he ran the Glasgow office and was Head of Retail for Scotland.
Douglas is married with a grown up family. His main leisure interest is sport, in particular rugby, having played for West of Scotland from 1978 to 1990 and for Glasgow from 1979 to 1987, captaining both teams. He also coached at junior and senior level. Douglas continues to enjoy cycling having cycled the coastline of Scotland raising funds for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital and Cancer Research – from Gretna to Berwick – a distance of 1350 miles. He was also part of a team that did a Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride in 1999, raising money for a charity that helps people with addictive illnesses.
