Bio
Ernest D. Jarvis joined Savills Washington, D.C. Office as Vice Chairman in April 2023. He was previously with First Potomac Realty Trust where he joined in 2011 as Senior Vice President. Jarvis was responsible for the company’s Washington, D.C. portfolio and supports First Potomac in its strategic growth objective. Before joining First Potomac, Jarvis was market managing director of CB Richard Ellis’ Washington, D.C. office, one of the largest and most profitable CBRE offices. At CBRE, he led a team of professionals across multiple service lines and was also responsible for the office’s business and operating functions.
As a fifth-generation Washingtonian and a seasoned real estate executive, Jarvis is keenly familiar with the Washington, D.C. commercial real estate market. His insight into business policy trends, and leadership in the Washington business community, explain why Jarvis is regularly cited as a commercial real estate expert in the Washington Post and other business periodicals. In 2012, the Washington Business Journal honored him as one of the “Power 100” - the region’s most influential business leaders.
Jarvis is a past president of the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA), a member of the executive committee of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the executive committee of the NoMa BID, and is a member of the Economic Club of Washington. He is also a board member of the Landon School, a former board member of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and Urban Trust Bank, and Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2000. Jarvis is a graduate of Southeastern University.
