Garry Sobel joined Kaufman Capital Partners in 2013 as a Senior Vice President focused on investment strategy, asset management, and sourcing co-investment capital. Sobel’s unique experience, derived from 27 years of investment experience in real estate, private client wealth management, and finance, has taught him to successfully manage the real estate investment lifecycle. Sobel is expert at redeveloping and repositioning underperforming projects and managing real estate investments through market cycles. He focuses on mitigating risk at inception and active asset management throughout the project lifecycle. Sobel began at KPMG as a consultant and auditor and moved to The Portman Companies in1989. Sobel co-founded Avondale Capital/Scout Properties in 1994 and then gained experience working for private client investment firms, Bernstein Global Wealth Management and Deutsche Bank’s Asset & Wealth Management. He holds various licenses, including his Series 7 and 66, and has had his real estate license since 1990. Sobel earned his CPA license while working for KPMG. Originally from New York, Sobel graduated from The Ohio State University where he double-majored in Accounting and Marketing, while also playing varsity soccer. Sobel is heavily involved in Atlanta’s Jewish community and is the Board Chair for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces’ Georgia Region.
