George Mersho is the managing principal of Mershops, the Mersho family’s real estate platform that rebranded from Bridge Group Investments in May 2025. Mershops is positioned as a platform focused on transforming underperforming retail, office, and hospitality assets into “future-facing, culturally relevant destinations,” with repositioning efforts supported by a strategic partnership with Steerpoint Capital.
George Mersho is also widely associated with Shoe Palace, a San Jose–area footwear retailer established by the Mersho family in 1993 and operated by the four Mersho brothers across key functions. In December 2020, JD Sports Fashion announced the acquisition of Shoe Palace for $325 million (with a portion deferred) and disclosed that the Mersho brothers received equity resulting in 20% ownership of JD’s enlarged U.S. group (Genesis), with plans for the Mersho brothers to continue managing the Shoe Palace business post-transaction.
