Bio
George York joined York Properties in 1993 and has built his career around delivering exceptional service through strong teams and lasting client relationships. His favorite part of the job is hearing directly from clients about the positive experiences they have working with York’s people, a reflection of the firm’s commitment to quality and collaboration.
George is actively involved in the commercial real estate industry and holds memberships and credentials including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a North Carolina Real Estate Commission Broker’s License, and the CCIM designation.
He is equally committed to community leadership. George currently serves as Board Chair for Southlight, supporting mental health and substance abuse services, and as Vice Chair for Step Up Ministry, which focuses on life skills development. He has also completed board and campaign committee service with Transitions Lifecare, the Raleigh Rescue Mission, and Marbles Kids Museum.
George earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in 1993 and later completed his MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2006.
Outside of work, George enjoys life in the Triangle with his wife, Parker, their three sons—Smedes, Bowen, and Crawford—and their two dogs, Speck and Daisy. He spends his free time golfing, traveling, and cooking on the grill or smoker, and appreciates the region’s vibrant mix of restaurants, music, festivals, and outdoor activities.
