Bio
From the historic streets of Beacon Hill to the scenic shores of the South Shore, Gretchen brings a passion for helping clients achieve their real estate goals. Known for her integrity, problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail, she combines professionalism with a practical, personable approach that ensures every transaction runs smoothly.
Gretchen was raised in Fairfield County and spent summers on her family's farm in Westport, MA, where she discovered her lifelong love of horses. She trained at one of the top hunter-jumper facilities in North Salem, NY, and went on to compete in equestrian sports through college in Virginia. Following graduation, she fulfilled a childhood dream of working as a wrangler on a ranch in Wyoming, later managing foxhunting and dressage farms in Kentucky and Rhode Island.
Her deep connection to animals and nature led to a successful 25-year career as a fine artist. Working in oils and pencil, Gretchen captures the mood and essence of her subjects, whether painting vibrant landscapes, equestrian portraits, or expressive abstract pieces. Her work has been featured at elite equestrian events from Myopia to Wellington, gracing the covers of programs with portraits of Olympic show jumpers and Dressage champions. She maintains studios in both Plymouth and Westport, MA, and is a proud member of the South Coast Artists Association.
Gretchen also serves on the Ashley Place Board of Trustees and actively volunteers with local rescues, supporting both horses and dogs. Since the passing of her beloved horse, Skye, she now devotes her free time to painting, mountain biking, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with her rescue shepherd mix, Tallulah.
