Hitoshi Aratani, a 28-year industry expert specializing in developing relationships with Japanese firms, is an Executive Vice President and Head of the Japanese Practice in JLL’s New York office.
Having lived and worked in the U.S. for the past 24 years after growing up and beginning his career in Japan, Hitoshi brings a unique cultural dynamic to JLL. His long and extensive relationships with many Japanese firms make him a trusted presence in the industry, as he fundamentally understands the needs and organizational process of many Japanese firms. His experience in the United States meanwhile, provides credibility that he can implement their goals in the American business community.

Hitoshi was formerly a Director at Cushman & Wakefield in New York. Prior to his time at Cushman & Wakefield, he worked for a Japanese bank as a real estate finance professional both in the U.S. and Japan. He brings to JLL an elaborate set of relationships with major Japanese firms and the ability to network throughout the Japanese business community.
Hitoshi holds degrees from George Washington University National Law Center and Osaka University (Japan). He is a registered attorney in the State of New York and holds a New York University Certificate in Real Estate and Investment/Commercial Real Estate.
