Jim is a seasoned commercial real estate advisor with more than 40 years of experience specializing in office and industrial tenant representation across the Twin Cities and greater Midwest. Since beginning his career in 1985, Jim has built a reputation for delivering strategic real estate solutions that align with his clients’ business objectives, representing a diverse range of local, regional, and national organizations. Throughout his career, he has completed more than 1,000 lease transactions totaling over eight million square feet, helping companies navigate complex occupancy, growth, and workplace decisions.
Prior to co-founding Forte Real Estate Partners in 2021, Jim held leadership roles with several of the industry’s most respected firms, including Excelsior Advisory, Cushman & Wakefield, and Koll Real Estate. His extensive experience spans tenant advisory, lease negotiations, portfolio strategy, and transaction management, providing clients with the market insight and creative problem-solving needed to achieve exceptional outcomes.
As a co-founder and Principal of Forte Real Estate Partners, Jim led the firm's Office Advisory practice and helped grow the company into one of the Twin Cities’ most respected commercial real estate firms. In less than five years, Forte advised on more than $885 million in transactions and earned recognition as a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Best Place to Work for three consecutive years. In 2026, Forte joined Transwestern, where Jim continues to play an active role in growing the firm's office tenant advisory platform and serving clients throughout the region.
Widely respected within the commercial real estate community, Jim was named Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) Broker of the Year and remains an active member of both MNCAR and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). Known for his integrity, market expertise, and client-first approach, Jim continues to be a trusted advisor to organizations making critical real estate decisions.
