For over 100 years, the Freedman family has been part of Ottawa’s commercial real estate community. Joel is the fourth generation in his family to work in the industry. He has been involved in commercial real estate brokerage and development since 1978 when he entered the industry and worked for his father who operated a commercial/industrial real estate company in Ottawa in the 1960’s and 70’s.
In 1984, Joel joined a large real estate brokerage firm to market a wide variety of office and industrial properties. He spent several years there and then co-founded Metro Suburban Realty Ltd. in 1989. Joel owned and operated Metro Suburban Realty for 32 years.
