John Balliett is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Charter One Hotels & Resorts. With more than four decades of hospitality leadership, Balliett has guided Charter One’s growth from a startup into a multi-state organization overseeing a diverse portfolio of 35+ branded and independent hotel assets, including full-service, resort, limited service, and boutique properties across the Eastern United States.
Balliett holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Grove City College and pursued specialized studies in Optics at the University of Rochester, an educational background that has shaped his methodical approach to problem-solving and business optimization. Based in Florida, he continues to focus on strategic growth, operational discipline, and building high-performing teams while remaining a student of the evolving hotel and resort industry.
