Bio
John Fox is a long-time entrepreneur, investor, and business manager. He and his wife, Ann, are the previous owners and operators of Fox Urban Farms, LLC in Winchester, VA from 2022 through 2025. Prior to starting Fox Urban Farms, John and his wife were the owners of Greenwood Grocery & Deli and Greenwood Grocery & Deli Catering & Concessions in Winchester, VA from 2004 to 2020.
John is originally from Greensboro, NC and received his Bachelor of Science in Communication from East Carolina University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. John and Ann have been together since 1994 and have four wonderful sons, all of whom graduated from John Handley High School.
John is currently a City Councilor for the City of Winchester, a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and is a Past Board Chair for the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber. He is also a Rotarian, serves on the Neighborhood Design District Advisory Board for the Fourth Ward, and a member of the Sixth District’s Small Business Advisory Board. He is also a member of the TVRC Workforce and Education Committee, a member of the VA Chamber Workforce and Education Executive Committee, and a former Commissioner for the City of Winchester’s Planning Commission.
In 2025, John joined SVN Commercial Specialists as a CRE Advisor. It was a perfect fit where he could utilize his knowledge, skills, and network to assist those looking to buy, sell, or lease commercial real estate in and around the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
John believes that everyone should be involved in their local community. He strives to help and mentor others to bring about positive change.
