John Frisch joined Newmark Cornish & Carey in 1992 and currently serves as a senior managing director at the Sacramento office. Prior to joining Newmark Cornish & Carey, Mr. Frisch was a top performer for CB Richard Ellis’ Sacramento office for 10 years. During this time, he was a member of the Century Club for eight consecutive years and a Top Ten Producer in the Sacramento office from 1987 to 1992
During Mr. Frisch’s 35 years in commercial real estate, he has negotiated over 1,000 sale, build-to-suit and lease transactions totaling in excess of 10 million square feet. Mr. Frisch has held a number of leadership positions with some of Sacramento’s most influential professional organizations. He is a past board chair of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, a past president of the Association of Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) and a former director of the Sacramento Area Commerce & Trade Organization (SACTO).
Mr. Frisch also includes community involvement among his activities. A past chair of the Salvation Army advisory board, he recently oversaw the successful $7.4 million capital campaign for the Salvation Army in Sacramento. In recognition of his service to nonprofit organizations in the Sacramento area, Mr. Frisch was the first recipient of the Trainor Fairbrook Humanitarian of the Year award in 1995, given annually to the Sacramento real estate professional who gives back to the community. He also received the award in 1996, 2002, 2007 and 2015. In 2007, Mr. Frisch was honored with the Salvation Army’s Humanitarian Award at a luncheon attended by approximately 1,300 local business and political leaders. The luncheon generated more than $300,000 in revenue for the Salvation Army in Sacramento. The Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce named Mr. Frisch Volunteer of the Year in 2005 and Sacramentan of the Year in 2013. Mr. Frisch is also a former president of the Rotary Club of Sacramento, the Sutter Hospitals Foundation, Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento #1 and the Fairytale Town board of directors.
Mr. Frisch attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played football and graduated with a degree in anthropology.
