John R. Barganski is a senior commercial real estate executive with more than 30 years of experience in office and retail leasing, asset management, and portfolio strategy across major U.S. markets. He currently serves as a Strategic Advisor at Uncommon Developers LLC, where he partners with ownership and leasing teams to drive repositioning strategies, tenant engagement, and long-term value creation for high-profile assets.
Prior to joining Uncommon Developers, Mr. Barganski spent nearly two decades at Brookfield Properties, most recently as Senior Vice President of Office Leasing, where he oversaw leasing and marketing for more than 11 million square feet of Class A office and retail properties throughout Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and other West Coast markets. During his tenure, he was responsible for securing marquee tenants, leading complex leasing initiatives, and supporting asset repositioning efforts across premier institutional portfolios.
Mr. Barganski’s earlier career includes senior leasing, asset management, and advisory roles with respected real estate organizations such as Trizec Properties, C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, PacTen Partners, Cushman & Wakefield, and Prudential’s Premisys Real Estate Services. His background spans public and private ownership structures, providing him with a deep understanding of capital strategy, market positioning, and tenant-driven value creation.
At Uncommon Developers, Mr. Barganski plays a key role in advancing leasing and repositioning initiatives for flagship assets, including the firm’s Downtown Los Angeles holdings. His appointment reflects Uncommon’s focus on pairing innovative development with experienced institutional execution to elevate asset performance and tenant experience.
Mr. Barganski holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California, where he was a member of USC’s inaugural Real Estate Development Program. He is actively involved with professional organizations including CoreNet Global, the Urban Land Institute (ULI), NAIOP, and the Los Angeles Commercial Real Estate Association (LACRA), and is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences and events.
