Bio
Jonas Willson is the Broker/Owner of Genesee River Realty and was born and raised in Scio, NY, just steps from the trout waters of the Genesee River—a place that fueled his passion for the outdoors from an early age.
He graduated with honors from Finger Lakes Community College and SUNY Cobleskill, earning an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Conservation and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries & Aquaculture. His education included specialized coursework in small woodlot management, entrepreneurship, wildlife management, chemistry, and advanced studies in ecology and biology—providing a strong foundation in the environmental and recreational characteristics that define Western New York.
This background gives Jonas a unique advantage in evaluating, marketing, and managing rural, recreational, and timberland properties.
Following college, Jonas spent four years in Alaska as a fisheries biologist, living and working throughout the state. After returning to New York, he worked in the oil and gas industry before starting his own business. He later earned his New York State Real Estate Broker license and founded Genesee River Realty.
Real estate is a continuation of a proud family tradition—his grandfather opened a chain of auto parts stores across New York State in the 1940s, instilling in Jonas a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset.
Outside of work, Jonas enjoys spending time with family and friends, managing hunting properties, and pursuing outdoor interests including fishing, hunting, boating, grilling, craft beer, and baseball. His connection to the land is both personal and professional, and he brings that perspective to every client interaction.
With a commitment to honesty, professionalism, and clear communication, Jonas works to make each transaction smooth, efficient, and successful. He is dedicated to helping clients understand the value of land ownership, rural living, and the outdoor lifestyle that Western New York has to offer.
