Jorge L. Gomez-Moller, a Partner at Driftwood Capital, serves as the firm’s General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer. Jorge directs Driftwood’s in-house legal team and outside counsel across all fund-level and asset-level legal matters and, along with Driftwood’s other Partners, directs the firm’s operations and corporate strategy. In 2019, Jorge spearheaded the launch of Driftwood Capital’s Opportunity Zone program. In 2020, Jorge helped direct the corporate restructuring of Driftwood Capital and simultaneous formation of, and capital raise for, ~$300M in “general partner” funds focused on hospitality acquisitions, development and lending, which funds have subsequently transacted on more than $3BN in real estate assets. That same year, he also organized and registered Driftwood Advisors, LLC, an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser, and served as the adviser’s Chief Compliance Officer until October 2024.
In 2021, he successfully helped structure and lead the equity recapitalization of Driftwood Capital’s subsidiary hotel management company, Driftwood Hospitality Management, which, as of 2024, ranks among the largest hotel management companies in the US with more than 80 hotels under management. In September 2024, he helped lead the structuring and equity recapitalization of a fund focused on Florida’s Space Coast market, which at closing held assets valued in excess of $700M.
Prior to joining Driftwood in 2018, Jorge practiced law at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he represented clients in private equity fund formations, complex joint ventures, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He graduated Georgetown University with a B.A., cum laude, in Government and English and earned his J.D. from Boston University. Jorge also holds a certificate in Commercial Real Estate Analysis & Investment from the MIT School of Architecture & Planning. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
Jorge serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, the official philanthropic partner of Big Cypress Natl. Preserve and Biscayne, Everglades and Dry Tortugas Natl. Parks., whose mission is to support education, exploration, and conservation in Florida’s national parks. A native of Coral Gables, FL, Jorge and his wife currently reside a few blocks south in Pinecrest with their two sons, daughter, and CKC spaniel. He enjoys offshore fishing, fly fishing, boating, sailing, paddleboarding and generally just being on the water. He is also a lifelong golfer, guitarist, tennis player, and skier. Jorge is a member of the Riviera Country Club and the Coconut Grove Sailing Club.
