Julia Torrence was delighted when she learned that Corcoran was coming to Harlem. She had been working for several years at a boutique real-estate company, marketing condominiums and new developments as well as handling residential sales. Eager to experience the advantages of a larger, corporate firm, Corcoran was the ideal next step for Julia.
Real estate is in fact Julia’s second career. She spent 17 years with New York Telephone -- now Verizon -- in sales and marketing. When the opportunity presented itself, Julia jumped at the chance to start anew in real estate. She has worked with developers on special projects, from inception through building completion, and she looks forward to expanding her portfolio by working on more new developments, which she truly enjoys.
Julia has lived in Manhattan throughout the years and is delighted with the Harlem Renaissance that is presently in full swing. “Harlem is like a village, in the same way that Little Italy, Chinatown, and Soho are villages. It’s a family-oriented community where people greet each other on the streets. It’s vibrant, diverse, and alive, much the way it was when I was a child,” is the way Julia describes Harlem today. She is equally familiar with other fine neighborhoods in Manhattan; Greenwich Village, the Upper West Side, and the Upper East Side are among her favorites. She is delighted to share her intimate knowledge with clients and prides herself on providing the highest level of customer service which she is known for.
