Julie Wilson is a Chartered Architect with extensive experience in rural and urban design, construction, and building technology. She joined GLM after more than two decades leading her own architectural practice, which specialized in sustainable and low-carbon construction. Her portfolio includes retrofit and new-build projects across residential, cultural, and educational sectors, including visitor centers, museums, and art galleries. She is a certified Passivhaus Designer and has delivered multiple projects to this low-energy standard.
Julie combines architectural practice with academic responsibilities, teaching design at the University of Edinburgh. She also serves as an assessor for the RIBA Part 3 professional examination. Her previous leadership roles include serving as President of the Edinburgh Architectural Association (EAA) and as a Trustee and Non-Executive Board Member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
