Katie grew up in Correctionville, Iowa just east of Sioux City. When she was younger, her family vacationed at Okoboji with friends and in 1987 her parents bought a cabin on the lake with 50' of East Okoboji Lakeshore for under $50,000. WOW, how land prices have changed in 30 years! Ever since then, she has loved Okoboji and moved there full time in 1996 after graduating from Iowa State University. She owned 2 daycare centers and taught preschool in the lakes area from 1997 until 2009. Katie has been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 2008 and started her own Real Estate Firm NextHome At The Lakes in April 2016. In January 2018, she opened her second NextHome office in Sioux City, NextHome TriState Realty. She is licensed in 4 states, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Throughout her career, Katie has been very involved in the REALTOR association on the local, state, and national levels and firmly believes in abiding by the Code of Ethics. She has served as a Regional Vice President for the Iowa Association of REALTORS, past president of the Northwest Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS and the Iowa Great lakes Board of Realtors. She was also on the Idea Exchange Council For Brokers for the National Association of REALTORS for a couple of years. In 2014, Katie was chosen as the REALTOR of the year for her local Realtor Association. In her spare time, she enjoys all things Iowa State Cyclones and the Minnesota Vikings as well as spending time with her nieces and nephews and 2 Boerboel's (South African Mastiff) Buddy and Pal.
