Kent represents landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers, with particular emphasis on industrial and investment properties.
Kent comes to McGuire Properties with fifteen years experience in real estate brokerage, law, finance, and investment, as both a principal and on behalf of partners and clients.
He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1984. Kent then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law in New York in 1987.
Kent went on to practice law with Alston and Bird in Atlanta, and Kennedy, Covington, Lobdell and Hickman in Charlotte, where he concentrated his practice in commercial real estate law, advising clients on large commercial sales, leases and refinancings. From law, Kent moved simultaneously into real estate brokerage and investment in 1991. Affiliating himself with Coldwell Banker in Charlotte, Kent consistently ranked in the top 6 percent of brokers nationwide. In addition, he has created and managed several real estate investment partnerships. Kent joined McGuire Properties in 2003, and works in all areas of commercial real estate, with a concentration in investment and multi-family sales.
Kents extensive background also includes substantial financial analysis skills and training, having completed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Georgia, and holds a real estate brokerage license in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
