Bio
Mark Howe, President of MSH Group, received his undergraduate degree from University of California at Davis in 1980. He earned an MBA at Sacramento State, and went on to pass the CPA exam. After several years in public accounting he left the San Francisco office of KPMG Peat Marwick and purchased a seat on the Pacific Stock Exchange Option Floor. There he was a market maker in equity options.
In 1989 Mr. Howe purchased McCoy Chemical Company in Oakland, California. Mr. Howe broadened its scope of operations from janitorial chemicals to include the manufacture of bulk bags, installation of geomembranes, and the reprocessing of polyethylene resins. The company was renamed Amigo Bag & Lining. By 1997 this company had grown from 3 employees in a 10,000 square foot warehouse to 45 employees and 60,000 square feet under roof.
On September 23, 1997, the main facility burned down in a six-alarm fire, accelerated by the presence of 500,000 pounds of polyethylene. Mr. Howe moved from Oakland and consolidated all operations at the old Rheem Plant in Richmond, California. Shortly afterward Mr. Howe sold Amigo to concentrate on real estate development.
