Mr. Hayes is a Partner and Head of U.S. Multifamily Acquisitions in Ares Real Estate, where he focuses on U.S. real estate equity. He also serves as a member of the Ares Real Estate Global Investment Committee. Prior to joining Ares in 2022, Mr. Hayes was the Chief Investment Officer at Resource REIT, where he led the firm's acquisition, asset management, portfolio management and capital markets activities. Previously, Mr. Hayes was a Vice President of Transactions for AIMCO, a Denver-based multifamily REIT. In addition, Mr. Hayes was an Associate in the Real Estate Group at Lazard, Freres & Co., an investment banking firm. Mr. Hayes holds a B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in Economics.
