Matt was born and raised in Orlando, FL. He is licensed general contractor and licensed real estate agent. Matt’s construction experience began in high school where he worked as mason during his summer breaks. In 1999, Matt began working in the family business, Harkins Development Corporation. After ten years of working his way from Superintendent to President, Matt became part owner. Through hard work and a great reputation, Matt helped to grow the business to a $30MM a year construction company. In March of 2012, Harkins Development Corporations was sold to a large construction company based in Chicago, IL. In August of 2013, this entrepreneur stared his own successful construction business, DL Harkins Construction LLC. Matt looks beyond project completion and focuses on the relationship with the client throughout the construction process. Matt strongly believes in active communication and interaction with clients to insure their understanding of all project phases. Matt believes that once a bond of trust is built, clients feel free to pursue their own businesses without undue concern about their projects.
