Bio
Matthew Oppenheimer serves as President of Halpern Enterprises, where he leads strategic initiatives to enhance the value of the company’s retail real estate portfolio. In this role, he works closely with the development and acquisitions teams to advance growth through new investments, ground-up development, and long-term asset planning. He is responsible for maintaining strong financial and organizational foundations across the multi-state portfolio. His contributions support the firm’s continued expansion in the Southeast and reinforce Halpern’s multigenerational leadership model.
Oppenheimer’s career at Halpern Enterprises began in 2012 when he joined as a regional property manager. He subsequently served as an analyst and associate on the development team before being promoted to Director of Acquisitions in 2019. In that role, he handled sourcing, underwriting, and due diligence for new acquisitions while collaborating on development pursuits. Before joining the firm, he worked as a leasing agent with Glenwood Development and as an analyst with Rosenberg Capital Advisors, focusing on retail property acquisitions. His earlier experience includes beginning his real estate career with the retail leasing team at Colliers International. Oppenheimer is part of the third generation of family leadership at Halpern and currently serves as secretary and treasurer for the Chamblee Doraville Community Improvement District. He also has held board or committee roles with The Epstein School, Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, Hillels of Georgia, Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and Birthright Israel Foundation, and has participated in the ADL Glass Leadership Institute and the AJC Black/Jewish Coalition retreat.
