Michael Ayre is a Colorado-based real estate advisor known for combining brokerage leadership with hands-on development and construction expertise—a perspective few agents can offer. With more than two decades of experience, he brings a disciplined, strategic approach to every transaction, grounded in market insight and real-world building experience.
Raised in Michigan, Michael developed an early passion for the outdoors and skiing, which led him west in 1996 to build his life in the Colorado mountains. Before real estate, he founded and operated multiple successful restaurant and business ventures, shaping his entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to high-level client service.
His real estate career began in 1999 through personal investment, evolving into a full-time focus in 2003. Since then, Michael has been involved in more than 1,000 transactions across residential sales, luxury construction, and new development. He has built custom mountain homes, completed high-end renovations, and represented both developers and buyers in projects ranging from boutique offerings to communities of up to 24 residences.
In 2011, he founded and led his own brokerage, building a team of seven agents and further strengthening his leadership and negotiation expertise. Today, as part of Sotheby’s International Realty®, Michael provides his clients with global exposure, refined marketing, and a highly personalized approach.

Michael met his wife in the Colorado mountains in 2001, and together they are raising their two teenage daughters. Outside of real estate, he is an avid skier, cyclist, and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, surfing, great food, and continuing his education in wine and travel.
