Michael Kloppenburg is a Senior Consultant within Avison Young’s Flexible Office Solutions (FOS) practice. The FOS team is focused exclusively on the flexible office industry advising occupiers, owners, and flexible space operators seeking to leverage the strategic advantages of this emerging market dynamic. Michael is joined by a team of seasoned and passionate professionals dedicated to promoting this service on behalf of Avison Young.
Michael joined Avison Young as a veteran of the flexible space industry. He spent nine years with Carr Companies working in management and sales for Carr Workplaces, an industry-leading national coworking operator. In 2015, Michael was integral in developing the in-house brokerage operation for Carr Companies leading tenant and landlord representation for the firm as Principal Broker. There he completed over $50M in lease transactions advising clients on their customized office requirements. In addition to directing leasing, Michael supported Carr with portfolio asset management and engaged in office acquisition pursuits.
Michael began his career at Colliers International in Atlanta in the research department supporting their office and industrial brokerage teams. He then joined The Walker Companies, national industrial site selection experts, performing marketing and business development for the firm. Michael also served as the General Manager for a regional security services firm where he successfully led and managed the Washington, DC branch office.
