Michael Newman has been Golub & Company’s chief executive since 1995, leading the company through a period of notable growth in the U.S. and Central and Eastern Europe. With the firm entering its seventh decade as a prominent developer and owner of commercial and residential properties, Michael continues to steer the multi-generational family business. He focuses on exploring new markets such as the Denver/Western Region and the Southeast U.S., as well as a continued presence in the Chicago area. Having accumulated over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, Michael is recognized as a principled and creative executive. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in numerous development, acquisition, and financing transactions. Known for his unwavering dedication and fostering strong partnerships, Michael spearheads and oversees many of the firm’s relationships with a diverse range of institutional and private capital partners, lenders, and joint venture collaborators. In addition to his role as chief executive, Michael serves as a member of Golub’s Executive Committee, contributing to company strategy and decision-making processes. He also holds a position on the board of the Chicago Architecture Center, further highlighting his involvement and influence within the industry. Having joined Golub & Company in 1984, Michael also assumes the role of designated managing broker for Golub & Company LLC.
