As Vice President of Asset Management, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years of experience in investment management. Smith's effective business strategies have consistently maximized asset performance and investor returns. A proven negotiator, Michael manages the financial and operational performance of the portfolio, ensuring the successful execution of business plans and portfolio-wide strategies.
Prior to joining the Brixton Capital team, Michael served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Sovereign Capital Management Group for 14 years. In this position Michael was responsible for overseeing mergers and acquisitions, syndications, and debt restructuring. Smith also managed a national portfolio of real estate, spanning over 35 million square feet across various asset classes.
Michael received a bachelor’s degree in international organization from California State University, Long Beach. Smith is actively involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
